Avernus
Isn't Tony Gonzales in a contract year?...he said he was, but he's not listed...
Super Twinky
I think Samkon Gado is listed as being under "exclusive rights" after this season...but he was only signed through this season. So does that make him a free agent too?
Big John
I think Samkon Gado is listed as being under "exclusive rights" after this season...but he was only signed through this season. So does that make him a free agent too? With less thae 3 years of vested experience, he is under exclusive rights to the team and can only re-sign with them unless he is cut by the team. So they are not a true "free agent" in that sense of the term.

WJW
Isn't Tony Gonzales in a contract year?...he said he was, but he's not listed... To my knowledge Gonzo and the Chiefs are working on an extension, but that he has 2 years left on his current contract.
Hat Trick
Q: Do you worry about getting contract done this season? GONZALEZ: “I’d be lying to you telling you I didn’t think about it, but I’m not worried about it like a negative thing, not by any means. My cap number is really high and it would kind of hurt the team for me to play under that cap number this year.” Q: Does your role change without Willie? GONZALEZ: “Like I said before, Kyle is going to come in here and he’s going to do a good job. As far as my role goes, it’s pretty much the same as it’s always been. They throw me the ball and they throw me the ball a lot. The only thing that I wanted more this year was more calls in the Red Zone, just calling my number and I think that they are going to do that. Coach Solari and I have been together since I’ve been here so he knows what I can do and he knows what I like. He’s actually asked me what I like to do and he’s calling those plays, so I can’t complain at this point right now and we’ll see how it goes in the season. As far as I’m concerned, in the Red Zone I’m going to get those calls this year.” Transactions: Signed a seven-year contract with Kansas City (9/13/02) ... Signed one-year Exclusive Franchise Tender with Kansas City (8/30/02) ... Designated as the Franchise Player by Kansas City (2/21/02) ... Signed a six-year contract with Kansas City (7/29/97) ... The Chiefs moved up five spots in the first round of the ‘97 NFL Draft to select Gonzalez with the 13th overall selection in a draft-day trade with Houston. The Chiefs obtained the Oilers first-round pick (13th overall - used on Gonzalez) and their fourth-round pick (110th overall - used on QB Pat Barnes) in exchange for Kansas City’s original first-round selection (18th overall - used on DE Kenny Holmes), a third-round pick (81st overall - used on T Scott Sanderson), a fourth-round pick (116th overall - subsequently traded by Houston to New Orleans) and a sixth-round selection (181st overall - used on LB Dennis Stallings) ... Declared for the draft following his junior season. I appologize for what you read earlier from me Avernus, you interpreted it the same way as I did. In which the GM stated that he was in a contract year. I guess what he meant was they will be tearing up the old one and he'll be signing a new one which will be his last and he will retire a Chief, which is nice and sounds like it must be a priority to the organization. I've been spouting off about Tony this offseason and I am still thinking this will be a career year. 90 REC 1200 yards and 12-15 TD's Edited August 25, 2006 by Hat Trick
modus
I'm kinda curious why my post pointing out that Peterson and Witten were under contract was deleted from this thread? You would think you would like us to point out when you make a mistake with your articles instead of deleting any evidence of where the users helped you with your research.
