Benson is Lovie's guy since he drafted him, but Jones staved him off all year last year... week 1 looks clear as Benson, to my knowledge, has yet to play a snap in preseason... what happens when Benson is practicing full on?? Will this be a Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown scenario? Will Lovie just go with the hot hand? Will Lovie just stick with one guy?? Calling all opionions and Chicago homers.... DMD Posted September 4, 2006 Share Posted September 4, 2006 It is unfair to make speculations not knowing what happens inside the lockerroom, but to my observation and knowledge I cannot see that Smith is causing a positive situation for the team and is allowing what is a contentious situation get worse each week. Actually, Angelo, the GM, drafted Benson and not Lovie. I have no idea how much input Lovie had on the pick. Jones didn't "stave" Benson off all year. Benson held out all of preseason and by the time he got a chance to play he got hurt. Turner is not a RBBC guy so I don't think it will be RBBC but I don't know how Lovie will feel about that. We will see. Since Benson is hurt again TJ will be the starter and get 90% of the carries in week 1.
