Ralph Furley
Can a Jets homer, or anyone else, shed some light on what the RB situation next year will be for the NYJ? I am thinking of accepting a trade involvong Shonn Greene which would be a nice keeper option for next year. I just don't have a clue what the RB situation is looking like next year with the Jets. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

Now that Washington is out and Greene will be thrown into the mix with chances of taking the starting job, It could be a good move at this point for a keeper. What are you giving up for Greene, though?

If I did, I'd run the risk of getting this moved to another forum which I don't want to have happen

He looked great, but that was against Oakland.
Rovers
Washigton could be gone next year. The Jets had made him some nice offers which he declined. Now, with the injury...??? Jones does have another year after this left on his contract, a contract he of course is not happy with, since he took the money up front and now wants a new deal. Surprising, eh? In any case, Greene figures large in the Jets' plans. For this year, I'm not sure how much playing time he'll get in close games. His recieving and blocking still needs some work. He sure does look good running the ball though. I can't see the Jets carrying TJ, Leon and Greene next year, I think either Leon or TJ will not be there. Washington could the odd man out, especially if Danny Woodhead does something with his new found opportunity to play now. Leon should have taken the deal the Jets offered. Washington was already one of the highest paid ..... second string back in the league!
Ralph Furley
If I make this trade I would be able to keep Greene for $5 out of a $100 budget for next year. Not sure it's worth it...

What are you giving up for Greene, though? I think it's a bit premature to think Greene is going to take the starting job this year. Actually unless Jones gets hurt, I give it a 2% chance of happening. Jones has rushed for 331 yards over the last two games and scored 5 td's over the past 4 games. He's also averaging a TD a week. Jones is way to productive to be 2nd fiddle this year.

How much is a solid RB3 worth in your league? For next year, I think that is his low end projection. There IS a chance he could be an RB2 next year, and even as a long shot, a low end RB1. Once Washington got hurt, Greene got his first carry at the 11 minute mark (early 2nd Q) of the second quarter with a 14 point lead. Not exactly garbage time. From Greene's first carry, he had 19 carries to Jones' 19, a 50-50 split. I think we're looking at a 60-40 split (Jones) for these two in the near term. So, I think Greene has value for this year. In a perfect storm for Greene, both Jones and Leon are gone next year, but I think one of them will stay. Which one is hard to say. Better for Greene if Leon stays. jordanzs
I have Greene in 2 out of 2 dynasty leagues. I'm thinking by 2011 he's going to be a top 10 running back. Good shot for that next year if TJ leaves.
