Tford
From Yahoo Sports: Disaster struck for the Carolina Panthers as they have learned that linebacker Thomas Davis will miss the 2010 season with a torn ACL, the second time in less than a year he has suffered such an injury.Davis was backpedaling next to teammate Jon Beason during individual drills in practice and went down with a torn right ACL, according to Darin Gantt of the Charlotte Observer. Davis tore his right ACL in similar fashion back in November when he was injured in a non-contact play at New Orleans. Now, Davis will need a second surgery to replace the ligament after such a quick return from the first ACL. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds recently at the team’s testing day, per Gantt. He was emerging as a leader and was lining up for a big pay day when the Panthers come around and start spending some money. Davis was tendered as a restricted free agent for $3.268 million for this season. Now, he’ll have a much more difficult time landing the longterm pay day. buddahj
Didn't you just spend a gazillion dollars for him in ATAP?

bpwallace49
I bet Dan Connor . . . and them they shake up the other starters if he plays SAM or MIKE
Tford
Jamar Williams, Dan Connor and James Anderson are all possibilities.
Tford
Interestingly enough, Jon Beason worked at WLB during practice. Dan Connor ran in the middle and James Anderson at Sam. Edited June 10, 2010 by Tford
wolfer
thomas davis helped me win a title in 2008 with a 33 point game. If this threatens his career, I'll never forget him!
Rovers
Anderson put up good numbers the last 5 games of 2009... was he playing WLB or SLB then?
keggerz
Anderson put up good numbers the last 5 games of 2009... was he playing WLB or SLB then? Anderson is listed as the starting WLB from week 10 thru 17 (8 games) and in two of those games the starting lineup consisted of 5 DBs with only Beason and Anderson as the starting LBs ...the only weird thing is that the last two games the gamebook lists both Beason and Anderson as WLBs (with Diggs as the SLB). I was really, really high on Davis this year (if he showed he was back to 100%)...top 5-10ish type high. I might as well get this out of the way now if I am unable to get around to doing a writeup on it....I fully look for Stephen Tulloch to have a top 10-15 or better type of season this year....playing in just over 70% of the defensive snaps last year he accumulated 121 total tackles....I wouldn't be surprised to see him even enter the top 5 of LBs this year....another guy I am very high on his Geno Hayes. Capt. Waffle
Most likely Beason at Will (which he played at Miami) Connor at the Mike and Anderson at the Sam.
EdwardL
Most likely Beason at Will (which he played at Miami) Connor at the Mike and Anderson at the Sam. I agree.
bleacher
Is there any realistic chance of Conner holding down the Mike if/when Davis returns? I believe Conner is 235ish, too small to move over to the Sam. I remember watching him in college and thinking he was a stud, but does he get lost in the shuffle with Beason and Davis ahead of him? He's still available in a new league I'm drafting, but if his only value is as a backup then I'll pass. If he has a chance to make an impression and hold down the Mike then he moves into a nice sleeper candidate for me.
