Pancake
Without getting into specifics of my leagues scoring system it was a blend of performance and PPR. We created this system so that QBs, RBs, and WRs would be mostly equally weighted in the top 20 to top 30 of all the QB, RB, and WR postions.. However, the RBBC trend has pushed the RB numbers way down and pass heavey trend has pushed the QB numbers way up. Oh sure, we have been tweeking the system here and there but it seems to me that my league needs to consider an all together new scoring system. I've done a little homework and The Huddle Perfect Scoring System looks pretty good. Anybody have any experience with The Huddle Perfect Scoring System and can tell me what they like and dont like about it. All thoughtful input is appreciated. T-Scorp
I have used the HPSS for about 6 or 7 years (whenever it came out) We have tweaked it over the years. The biggest tweak was to the TE scoring as they TE's can really rack up the points. I our league last year the top 10 scorer were 1RB (CJ), 6 QB's and 3 TE's. We will probably tweak the TE again this year. Overall the owners really like it. We have an auction league so you can buy who you want. As owners learned the scoring system price per position changed drastically. I still have a couple owners complain about losing points on the defense but overall we really like it. Recent tweaks (we use decimal point system) PPR for RB's 1 point per reception PPR for TE's reduced from 2 to 1 point TD's for QB reduced to 4 points (yet QB's still dominate) Kicker .1 point extra for every 10 yards of the FG made. ie 45 yard FG is 4.5 points makes Kickers a little more valuable I tweak the points allowed and yards given up for defensive scoring every year. I use the average of the top 10 defenses (10 team league) for points allowed and yards given up and set that at 0 points plus/minus 3 points and plus minus 75 yards. This gives me the average range so that if the defense allows points/yards in that average range they get 0 points, more they get negative points and less they get positive points. The key is to use the PHSS as a base and then modify to suite your league.

When you weigh each position do you take into account how many you start per position? In my league my breakdown is as follows: Top 12 QB 7 58% RB 4 33% WR 0 0% TE 1 8% PK 0 0% DEF 0 0% Top 24 QB 11 46% RB 5 21% WR 6 25% TE 2 8% PK 0 0% DEF 0 0% Top 36 QB 14 39% RB 10 28% WR 9 25% TE 3 8% PK 0 0% DEF 0 0% Top 100 QB 21 21% RB 30 30% WR 26 26% TE 11 11% PK 0 0% DEF 12 12% Top 200 QB 27 14% RB 46 23% WR 62 31% TE 22 11% PK 13 7% DEF 30 15% I am very happy with this breakout of distribution. Last year I had a flex position which could have been ANY position. This year I made the Flex be WR,TE,RB,K; took out DEF and QB. If you want my scoring PM me. I did this analysis to see if I like the % breakdown per position. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 1 Flex Edited August 17, 2010 by MrTed46
