delfamdelfam
so Marion Barber signs with Bears who are scooping up all the ex Cowboys. Still think they need another WR and offensive line help. How does this affect Matt Forte if any?
tazinib1
I don't think this affects Forte much at all. An upgraded Chestor is pretty much it. I'd be worried if Barber is awarded GL work however.
themiraclejones
Yeah I definetly don't think I will be drafting Forte in the first or second rounds this year. Chester Taylor and Marian Barber. Come on man you know Matt Forte is going to feel that in attempts.
Bronco Billy
I am a Forte owner in 2 leagues and am ecstatic to see it. Taylor is a washed-up turd and Forte will perform better later in the season if he has a credible RB to help ease a bit of the workload and keep him fresher. MikesVikes
How much did they sign him for? Chester is already making more $$ than Forte and is he now 3rd on the scale? I'm guessing that Barber's measly 5 mil is quite a bit more than Forte is going to bring in this year. Ditka's Moustache
Barber will be the short yardage and goal line back the Bears need. Other than at the goal line he shouldn't hurt Forte all that much in terms of touches. Last regular season Forte had 288 total touches while Taylor chipped in 132 total touches, Lovie and company are very stubborn when it comes to their scheme and players they like to have on the field and I don't see that changing much. This could spell the end for the 31 year old Taylor, but then again at the low price they are paying they could keep all three for depth. Forte $550,000 this year ( this should increase when/if they give him the new contract they promised to avoid a hold out ) Barber $5 million over two years Taylor ( 4 year deal started last year ) $1.25 million base this year plus some bonus money Of course unless the do something about the pathetic state of the junior varsity level offensive line no running back will thrive and we'll be having a memorial service for Cutler.
