Zooty
and the way Belichek plays with the injury report I'm not going to worry. Still starting him unless I hear before the game that he won't play
bostonsoxandy
I said it before the season, I'm worried from a fantasy perspective at how much Gronk was going for since McDaniels is the OC and he has never really implemented a TE before in his schemes. This doesn't seem serious though and he should be playing, hard to imagine him not.
Joebirds55
That team has been underperforming so far. McDaniels in my opinion has been extremely questionable in his game planning/play calling. That offense last year went bonkers and he's handing it off to Woodhead and leaving welker on the sideline. Don't understand it.
irish
I'm not worried about Gronk at all. He's averaging close to 15 pts per week and that's with how badly the Pats have sucked to start the season. He had 6 catches in both weeks 1 and 2 for 60 yards and 75 yards and a TD in both. Last week, he played the Ravens, in Baltimore and they shut him down. Not shocked, he'll be just fine.
Joebirds55
Yeah I'm torn with my thoughts about Brady/gronk so far. They were my first 2 picks and have yet to perform up to their normal standard. Think the refs could've had any impact on last week? Perhaps they got away w a lot more than normal (clutching, grabbing gronk) than normally allowed...the one play when he flat out ran over ray Lewis was awesome tho
irish
The things is, I don't think anyone expected to see Gronk perform the way he did last year. He came onto the scene and just lit it up. I, along with many others, expected a drop off and so far, he's performed pretty close to where I expected him too. However, I really don't think we'll have too many poor performances like last week. To expect 17 TDs again this year was a pipe dream. But 80 receptions for close to 1,200 yards and 12-14 TDs is certainly do-able and deserving of the early round draft spots that he was taken. Gronk's on pace for 102 targets, 79 receptions, 884 yards and 11 TDs. The only underperforming area would be yardage and that's because he hasn't had that big yardage game over 100 yards yet. Last year he had 5 games over 100 yards and one of them was over 150 yards (160). Each game he had 4-8 receptions and averaged about 5 per game and he had 1, if not 2 TDs in every game he played in but 6. If he can have several of those bigger yardage games like last year, he'll be more than deserving of his draft slot. bostonsoxandy
I think its time to trade Gronk and get a top back. McDaniels doesn't feature the tight end and he is making the play calls. Crazy talk. Gronk is invaluable. Just because he isn't putting up monster fantasy #'s doesn't mean he isn't one of the most important pieces of the Pats offense. He is a great blocker, athlete, and always draws double coverage from the D letting others run open. Besides, Ridley has looked pretty freaking good so far and I also like Bolden's potential for a year or two down the line. They need to fix their o-line if anything. do94nbpt
I think if they drop to 1-3 and the offense doesn't show much it will be because Gronk did not get his share. If you watched every game last year, Gronk in some ways was their offense. He is such a mismatch and to be 16th in targets for tight ends is flat out embarrassing for McDaniels. He has the best second and third best tight ends in the league at his disposal. It is a waste to not use them.

What you are saying here has nothing to do with Gronk's fantasy value. As a matter of fact, I think you strengthen the case to trade him high. He might be a dynamic player, but if the O-Line is not playing as well as they should, that takes Gronk out of the play.

Well my cold must be getting to me now...I read that as a trade IRL for a good RB to another team, not a fantasy trade. Sorry bout that. Joebirds55
Agree about mcdaniels. Coaches in all sports need to adapt to the talent they are given, and he is wasting gronk
