Axe Elf Posted July 13, 2013 Share Posted July 13, 2013 Yeah, that's never been my strategy in my admittedly limited (maybe about 10 leagues in 20+ years) experience with keeper/dynasty leagues. But in that experience, it seems that the teams that are perennially playing for "the future" are never any good NOW--while enough happens from year to year that playing to win NOW doesn't prevent you from making enough offseason moves and trades and such to be competitive again the next year. Jackson and Wayne may only be useful for a couple more years, but by then, you can replace them. Charles and Bush and Sproles all probly have a few years left, and Pitta and Wilson have several. For me, the idea is more to keep a good rolling mix of veterans replaced by younger players, not to have everyone on your team be at the start (or end, obviously) of their career.
