  1. Cincy fans can be legitimately upset with Kelly to some degree. That being said, if the past is any indicator, the Bearcats will be better for having had Brian Kelly associated with their program. Both Grand Valley and Central Michigan have maintained a high level of excellence in their programs after Kelly departed, with Grand Valley playing for another DII national championship this weekend and Central owning its second MAC title in three years. And it's not like those programs were powerhouses before he took over. I don't know what his secret is, but the guy seems to build programs in a way that is lasting. Contrast that to the Michigan State experience with Nick Saban. They were good when he was there, but the Spartans got real mediocre real fast after Saban left.
  2. Pope doesn't see any value in Wikipedia, either. I think that deep down, he's a 75 year old Luddite. I'm surprised that NORRIS isn't a hand-calculated league with results delivered via telegraph.
  3. What questions do you see? Situation or talent? I think the situation is top-notch; ARZ cut James, have a great passing game and a need for an every-down back. Sure, some TD's might get vultured, but that seems to be the worst of it. I figure that Denver will be a mess with McDaniels and Orton (not to mention Buckhalter, et. al.). I don't follow college closely, though... are there questions about Beanie's talent that I'm not taking into consideration?
  4. We Lions fans are smart, handsome, and have gigantic units, too.
  5. I lean towards Wells, because the Denver situation - both the backfield and the team overall - seems to be such a fiasco right now. Am I missing something?
  6. Stafford won't fail like Harrington. That's not to say he can't bust, but we're talking about vastly different guys. Harrington was supposed to have the "intangibles" and a skill set to be a savvy, accurate NFL operator. He obviously lacked those skills. Stafford has the tangibles that Harrington never had. Whether or not he can develop the other skills needed to transition into a great pro remains to be seen. As much help as the defense needs, Duke Robinson looks really good at number 65.
  7. I was a bit dismayed when the Lions took Pettigrew, as well. However, I read a little bit more (both on him and some of the probable logic behind taking him), and I'm not feeling so bad now. The kid is supposed to be a darned good blocker, which will give a big boost to the o-line and the running game. He's supposed to be a decent pair of hands, too. While I wouldn't have minded Oher or Maualuga, they're both a bit flakey (from what I've read). Hopefully, the picks that were made will pan out.
  8. I wouldn't say it's "very clear" that Detroit is taking Stafford right now. I'm not saying they won't pick him, but Curry and others are likely under serious consideration.
  9. Kitna will be an excellent backup, then. F*cking things up right when it counts most is his specialty. Kitna will be able to step in, and you won't notice any difference.

  11. I'm kind of a fitness nut, so this probably isn't what you are looking for, but a protein shake (1/2 whey 1/2 caesin) keeps me going until my mid-morning yogurt. A protein bar if I'm in a rush.
  12. All hatred of Brett Favre is completely rational.
  13. Perhaps here, but they tend to come from the same finite group of morans. There are plenty of tards on both sides of the political spectrum, and they both generate idiotic material. For every "Obama is a muslim t'rrst" email, there's a "Have to agree here Bush is consipiring with Exxon to drive up oil prices" website. There are way, way too many dipsh*ts in this country for one political persuasion to have a monopoly.
