JWP 45
In my local, we get to keep one player from our roster from the previous year. I am trying to decide between Andre johnson or Michael Turner. We do not have draft positions yet. It is standard scoring- 6pt for TD, 1 pt per 10 yds Rush/Rec. It is a 10 team league. We start 1 RB, 2 WR's and 1 flex RB/WR. What do you guys think? Thanks for your help.
delusions of grandeur
you'll have a better chance at getting Turner back in the draft, so keep AJ. I agree with Opie that you'd have a better shot at Turner in the draft (but I'll get to that in a second)... I think it's kind of a judgment call of how high you are on Turner to bounce back, and I personally would lean with him. Particularly with no PPR, he gets bumped up with those top 5 backs in my book.. I just think there's too few studly feature backs behind him, and he could easily put up some big numbers with alot of TDs, as long as he can stay healthy. But the additional consideration is of course which players you think others will be keeping, and how high you pick in the draft. If you have a low pick and/or people are keeping alot of the top feature backs, then I roll with Turner, but if alot of WRs are being kept and you have a high pick, then I roll with AJ, since you should be able to land a comparable back in the latter situation. But again, it is also kind of a preference call on which you like better to live up to their ADP.
KeeperCommish
You cant go wrong with either choice, but since you have to start two WRs they are going to be more scarce and therefore more valuable. Keep AJ.
Big Country
delusions provided a great answer. Do a quick best guess at who will be kept then, assuming worst case, who is likely to be there at the 10th pick. Lacking that analysis, I probably lean AJ, but that is because I think he is a safer bet to be a top 3 WR at the ned of the year whereas Turner will have to bounce back to just be top 5 or 6. Absolutely agree here.
The Wolf
Delusions wrote is best. Gun to my head, go with Andre but do your analysis and you may feel differently.
