We're about 50 miles east of downtown Chi in SW michigan and got hammered with wind and rain but thankfully flooding isn't an issue by us. On the way home from golf league last nite I drove through a couple stretches of 60-70+ mph blasts dodging limbs and crap, which was a bit unsettling :D The amount of lightning strikes were unreal. I've never seen anything like it.

somehow we didn't lose power here but alot of surrounding towns are out.

Rockin', Gil, Brent.. you guys ok? hopefully you didn't have the flooding i saw on the news this morning :D

My power was out last night until about 10PM - my fiance saw whole trees draped across Irving Park Rd and some windows got broke at her work during the storm. It was pretty crazy last night. Although I had no problems on the El but I take it later than the normal 9-5 shifters.

Fluc this rain!!!!

Bless my neighbor (Ed) for sharing his generator w/ me. I didn't flood, but it was close. W/O him it was flood city. It took 3 hours to get my sump back to normal! Gotta get him a gift cert!

We just got our power back about an hour ago. 30 hours without! Bless you guys w/ Katrina, cause as bad as this was, it doesn't compare!

My neighborhood looks like a disaster! Trees ripped out of the ground, fences in the street, and roofing all over! :D I have a tree sitting at a 15 degree angle that I'll have to deal with. Needless to say it was bad! Driving home thru this crap took an hour and a half, which would have been a 15 min. drive.

It ain't over yet. Waiting on more storms.

I talked to Gil and his area is fine!!!! :D He lives like 2 miles from me. Glad to hear he had no problems.

That's my story. Whoelse????

Tom,

I just got back from my buddy's draft, and Mimi is telling me that they determined there was a tornado in your town. I'm really glad all is OK with you and Carol. Let me know if you need anything, bud.

Gil,

Mimi heard correct. The news this morning confirmed it. We're fine now, but thanks for the offer. I was in Glen Ellyn when it hit. Every other street was blocked. We lost a lot of great looking trees, and I think I'm going to lose one also.

I am in the south of Joliet in the Bourbonnais area....we got some lightning and a couple of sirens but nothing spectacular. LOTS of RAIN....I had to REMOVE water from my pool instead of adding. Anyway...glad to hear my Nothern statefolk are doing good...you guy bore the brunt of it.
