Mojo20
On Leinart's fumble near the goal line it looked like the ball went backwards and out of bounds and yet it was still spotted at the half yard line. Was it just my imagination or maybe I don't know the rule but it seemed like SC got a very favorable spot for the final play. Any thoughts? And Reggie Bush is a FREAK! Glabra
Rule 7-2, Article 4a When a fumble is out of bounds in advance of the spot of the fumble, the ball is returned to the fumbling team at the spot of the fumble. Fumbles out of bounds behind the spot of the fumble belong to the fumbling team at the out-of-bounds spot. If a fumble is out of bounds behind a goal line, it is a touchback or a safety (Rules 8-5-1 and 8-6-1) (A.R. 7-2-4-I, A.R. 8-6-1-I and A.R. 8-7-2-VIII-IX). Mojo20
Thanks for the rule, that's what I thought. Did anyone else think they got a favorable spot?

Fenokee
Looked to me like the ball went out of bounds right where he was. Very little forward or backward movement.
Luger
On another note, is there penalty for calling a TO when you have none? That one USC coach was calling for a TO right ninfront of the ref pretty clearly.

It's a penalty when coaches cross the 25 yd line I think.
