NFL Game Of The Week

I'm sure most know, but for those that don't check it out, the NFL Channel's Game of the Week, is about as good as it gets. They do an awesome job of game recap's with a lot of behind the scenes sounds and views.

 

I just finished watching the Colts-Steelers game on ther, and I have to say again, WOW, what a game.

 

There were some funny moments before the game. First, Joey Porter had basically a 2 referee escort when he came onto the field so that he couldn't go over to jaw with the Colts. Porter shoots off too much, but it was funny to see the referees acting like security guards with hime.

 

There was a funny exchange between Dungy and Cowher. It went something like this.

 

Cowher: I was so proud that are team was keeping quiet like I asked them too.

Then, I wake up Wednesday and say, Oh No, what are you doing, Joey !!

 

Dungy: I told my players that Porter's comments were the Steelers real feelings,

and that the rest of it was just Politically correct-talk.

 

It was funny to hear how Dungy tried to use Porter's comments as motivation.

 

After watching the game review, here are the things that came to mind.

 

1. Edgerrin James is just as important to the Colts as Peyton Manning is. He is

awesome, and the Colts shouldn't have gone away from him. Other than

Manning and Freeney, he is the most important part of their success. I think

the Colts would be wise to do all in their power to keep him there.

 

2. The Steelers best impact football player isn't Ben Roethlisberger, Hines

Ward, Alan Faneca, Jerome Bettis, or Joey Porter.............It is Troy Polamalu,

and it isn't real close. He has become a force on this defense.

 

3. Tony Dungy is all-class. Even after a tough loss like that, he had nothing

but good things to say to both Cowher and Ben after the game.

 

4. For all the stuff that Cowher gets accused of, some deserved, he

and Polamalu handled that bogus reversal with as much class as can be

expected. I'm actually shocked that they didn't freak out more than they did.

 

2 days to go, and I can't wait. I hope this is the year that the Steelers take their next step and bring the Lombardi trophy to Pittsburgh. They have been close often, but it has been a LONG time coming. If they don't get it done, it has been a hell of a ride, and with the youth of the Steelers, I think things are looking positive for more opportunities.

P.S. I could post my thoughts about Mother Teresa at this point, and Gilthorp would have something negative to say.
