GWPFFL BrianW
So with the new rule changes this year, do you all find the game to be quicker? I think it might be slightly quicker, but really if they REALLY wanted to shorten the game up, how bout not having a tv timeout after EVERY SINGLE Punt? Opinions? Coffeeman
Agreed - does anyone know if they keep the game going after a punt (with just a short stoppage) if the game is not on any of the big networks? The same for timeouts - I haven't been to a game in person yet this year. It seems every game is on tv somewhere, so maybe there is no difference... GWPFFL BrianW
With all the college sports packages, I don't think there is a difference. Every game from every major conference is televised now. Certainly all the BCS conferences. I mean the Iowa-Illinois game was brutal, cuz Illinois and Iowa had a sequence where both teams went 3 and out like 4 times in a row. That was like 4 or 5 commercials within 10-15 minutes. All the rule changes have done thus far is confuse coaches and players. It's been very annoying, and hasn't really made the game any faster. The game still starts at 11 and ends around 2:30. I don't understand the logic at all, but then again, these are the same people that came up with the Bowl Championship Series.
