SaintsFanUnfortunately Posted October 22, 2006 Share Posted October 22, 2006 I thought Grossman would be a good play last Monday Night against the lowly Cardinals, so I actually sat Bulger (360 yards and 3 TDs) to play Grossman (<150 yards, 0 TDs, 6 turnovers, a total bomb). Almost every ranking that I checked out had Grossman rated over Bulger. Fast forward to this week. With Grossman and Bulger off, I am forced to play Leftwich against the lowly Texans. Leftwich gets injured in his sleep this week? He looked terrible all day and his WRs could not hold on to anything. Result: 125 yards, 0 TDs. Now I have Bulger coming of a bye and heading to San Diego. Ouch! May have to play Grossman again at home vs. the 49ers. Here we go again! I thought Rex would have a big game against AZ on MNF. With Bulger in I would have won in a blowout. With Rex and Bulger on bye this week, I started Leinart and got a whopping 6 points out of him. Fortunately, I'm only down 1 point with Shockey and 1 IDP left tomorrow night. I was leaning towards Grossman against SF at home next week but I might re-think that with San Diego losing Phillips and Merriman today. Might be boring FF, however playing your so called studs every week regardless of match ups will in most cases provide the best results. Playing last weeks surprise performing aka Furrey, Gabriel, Grossman, Leinart, Jennings is alot like little leaguers throwing behind the runner in baseball.
