Bier Meister
NFL Films recently aired a special on legendary SI football coach Vince Tringali. Under his leadership, the Wildcats won 19 straight games in 1962 and 1963 and earned a first-place national ranking. He coached Gil Haskell and Bill Laveroni, who are now on the coaching staff of the Seattle Seahawks, and Dan Fouts, who played quarterback for the Chargers and earned entry into the NFL Hall of Fame. His influence on athletes and coaches extended beyond SI, as you will see from the video. SI has permission to make this video available to our alumni online through the month of February. click here to watch it. edit: it's a little long edit II: i played lacrosse in hs. went down to san diego for college... maintained a great relationship with my hs lax coach. when i moved back to sf to attend grad school (usf) i assisted in coaching the varsity and was the head coach of jv. my coach was also very helpful when i had thoughts of going into the fbi (which was his "real" career).
