jgcoach
No way in hell I'd provide Alcohol on the business premises. The liabilities associated with an employee driving home with a .08 and hitting somebody have to be ridiculous. Bad idea, I think. Ask your insurance agent what they think or your corporate counsel, if they're sober. Completely agree as far as during work, (lunch time or whatever) the liability is tremendous. I own a plumbing & heating business; if one of my guys was seen with a beer while working it's immediate dismissal. There's no room for it in my business. Unless you have no problem with a half drunk guy installing gas piping in your home or business. However, we do blow off some steam after work and have Christmas Parties along with some picnics in the summer where it's totally acceptable. Except for the poor guy that happens to be on-call that particular week.
