Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services

You'll see a hugh list of items. Scroll down to Print Spooler. The Status column will likely be blank or show Stopped. Right click on Print Spooler and select Start. Also, make sure Startup Type is set to Automatic.

Try printing again.

Man....

I thought I was almost there. The printer showed back up to add. However, when I tried to add the printer I received a different Microsoft error box saying:

"Spooler Subsystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close. sorry for the SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS !!!ing inconvenience"

The error signature reads:

szAppName: spoolsv.exe szAppVer:5.1.2600.2696 szModName:SCPRINT.DLL

szModVer:1.0.0.1 offset:00005e54
