Sugar Magnolia
So, what's the scoop with D. Angelo Williams-move him now or will he be starting with no RBBC soon. What is his value?
Wizards
Williams is still in a sharing capacity. Panthers installed a zone blocking scheme which should play to Williams strengths sooner than later. Foster is a RB who is on his last chance with the Panthers to flourish...Foster has never rushed for 1,000 yards! From the many things you hear around Panther's camp....Williams will get a lot of short passes, screens, etc, Foster is the starter for now....Williams is an interchangable part that will get better stats in the long run....if you can stuff Wiliams away and wait him out to take the job then do so....but expectations are that Foster will get his chance to start and own the role..Williams has yet to take it away....Panthers have to find a chemistry at RB1 and that looks to be RBBC at this point...WR2 is in the same situation with Keary and Carter...could be why Panthers don't start strong as they are indecisive among the think tank! PantherDave
Hard to tell still, as he is not a great blocker for his QB, so that hampers his every down capability and add in the fact that he's not as good from the 10yd line in as Foster and Goings. This is a RBBC team and will remain throughout, couple in that Foster has clearly stood out in TC and PS as the clear cut #1....and DW will not be the 25 carries a game RB. He is going to get carries, screens, be used as a decoy etc., and will have a productive year from scrimmage for sure.
LooGie
I'm gonna go ahead and chime in, but PD is the man when it comes to the Cats, and I woudln't want to disagree with him in any way...buuuut. I think DW has been purposefully used less in the pre-season, because I think they might be truly trying to see what Foster can give them. I am fully expecting DW to take over as the primary back by week 5 (actually week 4) and I feel that the brass knows he's their guy. Not only that, but Foster will be hurt by week 7, and DW had a marvelous stretch last year when Foster got hurt. Why Fox went back to Foster I'll never know, and I think everyone's job should be on the line if Foster, DelHomme and Carter aren't playing for their roster spots. If Fox stays too loyal again this year, I'm calling for the mob...
