1stand10
JaMarcus Russell and the Raiders have reportedly agreed in principle to a six-year contract that includes at least $31 million in guarantees. The deal is expected to be worth as much as $60 million if Russell reaches all incentives. After missing training camp and the preseason, it's extremely unlikely that Russell will get starts before midseason, but if the Raiders keep losing to teams like the Lions, owner Al Davis will undoubtedly push hard for a late-season switch to the decorated rookie. DMD
I wonder if they would release Culpepper if they sign Russell? They need the money - I think CPep signed a $3 mill deal. They won't need him and McCown who they evidently prefer.
1stand10
Edit My bad it is 3.2 mill. Think they try and trade Walter? Or Pepp? Edited September 11, 2007 by 1stand10

HowboutthemCowboys
Edit My bad it is 3.2 mill. Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports the Oakland Raiders have reached an agreement in principle with unsigned first-round pick QB JaMarcus Russell. Russell will officially sign a six-year year contract Tuesday, Sept. 11. He should be able to take part in practice Wednesday, Sept. 12. The contract has a maximum value of at least $61 million and includes about $31 to $32 million in guarantees. kffl

gd74
At most Russell will only hold a clipboard this season so they will keep Culpepper
