gmann
I would like to pose a question as to the benefit of occupying a 2nd roster spot on a 2nd defense? For example, I have Pittsburgh defense. Certain weeks there are better defensive matchups. I dont want to drop Pittsburgh so the only option other than playing them every week is to open a roster spot to house a 2nd defense that could be substituted when Pittsburgh isnt ideal. But this seems a bit wasteful considering defenses dont get injured or benched. Im sure it depends on league scoring and number of teams in the league. So here is that info: 10 Team League Defensive Scoring Sack (10) Interception (45) Fumble Recovery (45) Touchdown (60) Safety (20) Block Kick (20) Kickoff and Punt Return Touchdowns (60) Points Allowed 0 points (150) Points Allowed 1-6 points (75) Points Allowed 7-13 points (50) Points Allowed 14-20 points (25) Points Allowed 21-27 points (10) Points Allowed 28-34 points (0) Points Allowed 35+ points (-25) So who thinks I should have 2 defenses and why? Who thinks I should just plug Pittsburgh in every week and dont even manage this position? Who thinks you should just alternate defenses week to week off the waiver based on best avialble matchup? Piranha-z
I have Baltimore as my #1 and picked up the Gmen to fill in for the bye week. I will keep both on my roster until I really need to use the spot. At least this way I have two good defenses that I can play against the better matchup and not have the open spot filled with some third string RB that I won't ever play anyway! SLGRAF
I think carrying a 2nd defense is worthwhile, if your starting defense has at least a couple of very tough matchups remaining. And, in your case, since you only start on TE every week, I think you can afford to drop one of your three TE's, and pickup a 2nd defense. So that will definitely change.
