Roy
You pick which ... if any? OK, now it's time for us to make our case. Start with this: Barry Bonds was the player of the decade in the '90s. Period. He didn't just make the 30-30 Club. He had a 30-30 Decade -- he averaged 36 homers and 34 steals a year. He won eight Gold Gloves. He had a .434 on-base percentage for a whole decade. He led his league in the decade in homers, runs, RBI, walks, extra-base hits, on-base percentage and slugging. He won three MVPs and finished in the MVP top five six times. And in this decade, he's somehow gotten better. here's some thoughts (including where the quote came from)
phenom
Bonds, of course, has his detractors. Because his postseason batting average is .196 and because he's never won the big one, one player says he expects Bonds to go down as "the Phil Mickelson of baseball." Of course we are just talking about the regular season aren't we........

Grits and Shins
There are several players I have always liked ... admittedly mostly homer picks I have always liked Pudge Rodriquez, IMO the best catcher in baseball. It's exciting to have him behind the plate. I was an A-Rod fan before he came to Texas. He has the potential to be one of the best short stops ever, IMO. Rusty Greer may not be the best player ... but he has always been a favorite of mine. A great glove, great work ethic and great attitude ... plays the game because he loves it, not for the money. I have always liked Griffey, Jr. ... thought he was a great outfielder and with a sweet swing at the plate.
