Formatting a 'fancy' email

My dad asked for my help. I have no idea where to begin.

He wants to send out a 'fancy' email with his logo, etc. in it; maybe some different fonts, pictures, I don't know what really.

Essentially what (I think) he wants to do is to be able to format an email template that he can re-use each month for sending out stuff to clients and potential clients of his remodel / rehab business (both residentail and commercial).

I told him I'd ask the collective wisdom of the huddle for answers. I told him to expect either:

1) "Download this from MSFT; it hooks right into Outlook and is easy to use" ... or...

2) "Go here and buy this ... it hooks right into Outlook and is easy to use" ... or ...

3) "Buy this service ... they handle all of that sort of stuff for me and it's very easy to use; I send them my logo, pick some pictures and send them the text ... and give them the email addy's to use ... and they take care of the rest" ... or ...

4) "Everything you need is already in Outlook; you just need to take a class"

...suggestions?

1. Create a new mail message and design (perhaps he needs training here?) the template in this new message.

2. Once you have finished the design, click the office button, Save As, name the file, and for the Save as type, select Outlook Template (*.oft).

3. Close the e-mail, when you close the e-mail you will be prompted if you want to save the e-mail, say no (yes will save draft, so no big deal).

4. To use the template, hit new message.

5. Hit the office button at top left.

6. In the gray list at right, select #8 Choose form.

7. Using "look in" drop down, choose 'User templates in File System'.

8. Should come up or browse to where you saved the *.oft template.

9. Template will be activated for new mailing.

From experience, I believe that you can only save an email template if you are not using Microsoft Word as the email editing application.

Just in case you don't see the option to save as a template.
