Traveling to Mexico this summer...

They don't give ages for aircraft. The only way you could tell, as you have let on, is if you know the actual model number. Case in point, US Airways would have a Boeing 737 listed for a flight. OK, which model 737 is it? The 200, 300, 700, 800?...or sure, you could pick the Airbus A320...those are new, right? But they were introduced in the late '80's and if you get one of those, it is about 20 years old...and even the 737-800 was introduced about 10 years ago. I guess my point is, with only the aircraft number, it ain't exact science, especially for the average Joe flyer and not someone like me who is quasi-obsessed with aircraft. But then again, one of my favorite aircraft to fly on is the Boeing 757...a lot of thrust to weight on that bad boy. My Dad loved flying that!

That sounds like fun.

No they don't give ages but Sun Country does say their average aircraft age is 2 years. They will do that.

Anyone have an opinion on an All Inclusive hotel in Cabo?

Depends on what you are into. If you want to go out to dinner and explore the local places then AI might not be the way to go. If you are going to just relax and drink by the pool/beach with an occassional outing then it might be worth it.

We went in November and I have a few tips.

-Cabo is spread out so if you want to go into town (reccomend) then you may have to Cab it depending on how far your hotel is from downtown....some are a good 20 min. We stayed at ME by Melia and could walk to downtown. Trendy hotel, plays constant house music, but you get used to it, not that many kids, good scene. Walk down beach to The Office and other resturants.

-Everywhere you go people are trying to get $$ out of you. Especially at the airport, stick to your pick up company. They offer discounts on activities (which are pretty good) but you need to spend a morning listening to a sales pitch about time shares and can be quite pushey. You don't get the free stuff until the end. We didn't do it because we wanted our time to ourselves. Heck even the Office had time share people. Our hotel was building a new place near by (El Derado) and the concierge was pushing the time share. We actually booked our excursions through the company that picked us up from the airport....very helpful, not pushy. The vendors walk up and down the beach, but can't enter the hotel space. We got very good at saying "No Gracia".

-A good idea might be to buy a cooler and beer/water at either Costco or local market to save money on drinks. Our hotel had 2 for 1 on certain drinks between 11-1 during the day and we tood advantage of that. Buy water either at store or hotel gift shop, cheaper than bar. They sell different grades (glacier, Fiji, and Vox) and some even up sell the water.

- Be aware that some beaches are not swimmable. The Pacific side and further up the bay have strong currants. Our beach was swimmable, but we only went in a few times.

Feel free to PM me with any questions.....I also have many suggestions for outings and dinning.

Again with the AI, just really depends what you want out of your trip, they can be a good deal though.
