You may remember I bought a Sportster a couple of years ago. I just sold it and now I'm looking to buy a Fat Boy. I know some have fuel injection (after 2002 I think, but I'm not sure) and some don't. I have only so much I can spend so I'm looking at older bikes that don't have FI. I'm wondering how big a deal it is that I get a fuel injected bike. I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

Thanks.

It's not a big deal at all IMO. Carbs have worked fine on HD's for years. One advantage to FI is there is no choke , one disatvantage is if something goes wrong it's often a pricey fix, where a carb is relatively easy to service.

here's a few opinions.
