hooknladder
EAGLES “DEMOTE” SHEPPARD Posted by Mike Florio on August 14, 2008, 4:59 p.m. In the initial depth chart published by the Eagles for the 2008 season, the right cornerback position had two starters – Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard. A reader points out that the depth chart has changed. Brown is now the starter, and Sheppard is the second-stringer. We assumed that the team was listing Sheppard as a co-starter in order to justify its asking price for Sheppard on the trade market. The reality here, as we see it, is that the Eagles won’t have harmony in the locker room unless they’re willing to give Sheppard the kind of contract that he’s worth based on what they want for him in trade, or unless they’re willing to trade him for what they think he’s worth to them on their depth chart. Remember — this all started because the Eagles didn’t want to blow a shot at Asante Samuel by trying to trade Sheppard prematurely. But after they got Samuel, they apparently tried to get too much for Sheppard.

When in the Nickel package Sheldon Brown will lineup in slot coverage and Lito will be the LCB.
