Swiss Cheezhead
Just curious if someone who watched the game -- Zia? -- can explain the disparity between Greenwood's and Diles' tackle numbers. I heard Greenwood looked pretty bad, but I'd love some real input.
Ziachild007
One of the things is that Diles is just the type of player that gets to the ball. He came in as a 7th rounder from KState last year, but really impressed the coaching staff with the way he played. Not really sure why he didn;t see more time last year, other than he was penciled in as Demeco's backup for most of the season. The Texans wanted get him on field this year, so moved him over to SLB early in the offseason. But probably the biggest factor is the fact that the Steelers were having no problems running the ball and getting passed the D-Line pretty easily. So basically the tackle opportunities were coming right to Diles, all he had to do was make them. As far as Greenwood, he didn't play a bad game. But the Steelers ran a lot more to Diles side and didn't need to pass that much. I wouldn't worry about Greeny just yet. Lets give it a couple more weeks to see how he does against a team that has to balance it out a little more.
