KSUChiefsTarheelFan
My younger brother is trying to go to a trade school in Kansas City. He went to my old high school, which is private, and graduated last year. Unfortunately the tuition is not fully paid from his final year there. Our mother and I are going to try and set up a payment plan with the school to get the balance taken care of, but they are holding his transcripts, thus denying him an opportunity to further his education. Funny thing about it is, our high school is a college preparatory school . After talking to the folks at the school he is trying to attend, they are telling me that his HS is required by law to release an unofficial transcript. What is it, and are they correct in telling me this? If anyone can help, it would be very much 'preciated. I would like to know all details before I call his HS and try and get this done. Egret
It's a private school so many public school laws may not apply. If their rule is that they don't release records unless tuition is paid, they won't budge.
The Wolf
Has anyone requested an unofficial version of the transcript as of yet? If the school to which he is applying has suggested this, I'd view this as the course of action to take, while setting up a payment plan to settle the outstanding debt. I think his father has, but I am not sure. We were told to do so by his counselor at the school he wants to attend.
