theeohiostate
Here are 4 of the 6 computer polls used in the BCS formula released today. Colley 1. Alabama 2. Vanderbilt 3. Utah 4. Texas 5. Northwestern Massey 1. Alabama 2. Northwestern 3. Vanderbilt 4. Utah 5. Boise State Sagarin 1. Alabama 2. Utah 3. Boise State 4. Texas 5. Oklahoma Billingsley 1. LSU 2. Oklahoma 3. Alabama 4. USC 5. Missouri OU's cupcake schedule has them in trouble early. TCU may have been ranked by the human polls in the top 25 , but I don't think the computer had them in the top 35 , nor will the human polls anylonger. Playing Baylor this week, will not boast those computer scores either. Looks like 'Bama has the inside track to being the #1 when the first BCS poll is released. Sgt Ryan
OU plays 5 top 25 teams, and 3 in todays top 11 if they win out. I dont think SOS is going to hurt the Sooners. But whatever. Polls in September are a joke. OSU, GA, FLA and USC were all ranked in the top 4 and non of them are legit top 10 teams right now, and its still September. Sgt Ryan
Besides Vandy, Northwestern and utah in anyones top 5 proves just how stupid these computers are.
BS Miscreant
Not that I care either way here but since you threw it out there and for the sake of argument... What your top 5 lists don't show is that OU is also ranked #6 in the Colley and the Massey in spite of their "cupcake schedule". And speaking of schedules, by the time the 1st BCS rankings actually come out, Oct 19th, the Sooners will have played Texas and Kansas. Not that Bama does not warrant serious consideration for a #1 ranking, especially with their early strength of schedule but it will take quite a bit of computer power to overcome the 57 (out of 61) 1st place votes that OU got in this week's USA Today poll. GWPFFL BrianW
Not to mention these computers average out and combine for merely 1/3rd of the BCS, while the Coaches and Harris interactive polls combine for the other 2/3rds. Computers are wacked anyway. It's nothing but raw data that says a win over 1 loss Duke is equal or very close to a win over 1 loss Clemson. Which is all Strength of Schedule is too. Rockerbraves
Do legit top 10 teams lose to unranked teams. Seriously. September 29, 2007 - Colorado uses 20-point comeback to stun No. 3 Oklahoma 27-
Sgt Ryan
September 29, 2007 - Colorado uses 20-point comeback to stun No. 3 Oklahoma 27-24 AND? OU also lost to Texas Tech and West Vagina. Last yr they were not a legit top 10 team as it proved. But really neither was LSU, had they played anyone but OSU they would have lost their bowl game as well.
