pig devilz
NE punted...Buf touched the punt and it went into the endzone Patriots missed falling on it, Buff did fall on it and were tackled in endzone.. why no safety?
budlitebrad
I think because the change of possession happened in the endzone.
pig devilz
could be....both teams touched it in the endzone.
Vicster
Was it considered a muffed punt? brought back to where the player first touched it? Was it placed at the spot where the player first touched it?
pig devilz
nope....it was ruled a touchback and placed at the
tazinib1
Wow. I have never seen a FG attempt like that. That was wicked.
drewjh
I missed that play but I have seen many times where a returner will just barely touch the ball and it will go into the endzone where he just knees it for a touchback. I think you have to have complete control of the ball before it goes into the endzone for it to be a safety. If you just touch it without controling it you can still kneel it? budlitebrad
From the NFL rulebook: A.R. 9.21 On a scrimmage kick receiver B1 gains possession in the end zone after touching the ball in the field of play.a) B1 is tackled and downed in the end zone. Ruling: Touchback. Edited December 28, 2008 by budlitebrad
Randall
Pats miss a 26 yard FG. Man that is quite a wind.
pig devilz
From the NFL rulebook: thanks.....thats pretty much what happened. 2 different Buf players touched it, punt returner and then another player, with a Patriot touching it in between them and in the end zone. this is the kind of wind we all worry about in our FF games....really having an effect on the game. both teams only throwing with the wind/running only against the wind. the kicks will be on the highlites, you'll see what we're talking about...amazing.
