A Little Bit Special
A Slam Dunk for Girls' Sports I'd have to see this contest myself before I'm convinced she wasn't given 9's for dunks that most male players do routinely. Kind of like when a short player enters the NBA dunk contest. If there is a perceived disadvantage, scores can become very subjective. Big Country
I'll reserve judgment until after i watch the contest tomorrow.
myhousekey
From ESPN's article http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/columns/story?id=1771877 Admittedly, Crawford had a good chance to beat Parker in the end. But he couldn't stuff home his final two attempts, leaving Parker her place in history. Her male McDonald's counterparts couldn't have been happier for her, though. Sounds like the guy she was up against in the finals missed both dunks and thus she won. Not to take anything away from her but I'm guessing that played a pretty big role in her "victory". I believe they will be showing the dunk contest on ESPN Wednesday night.
Big Country
Got it scheduled on Tivo. Then again, Jason Richardson lost the NBA Dunk Contest by missing his final dunk attempts, and no one took anything away from the guy that ended up winning it because of that.... and Richardson previously had put down by far the best dunk I have ever seen.
