Azazello1313 Posted July 17, 2009 Share Posted July 17, 2009 decent article, another here can't argue any of the six they choose in that first article, except maybe they could drop one of the two mingus albums and add bill evans' "portrait in jazz", the amazing first record of one of the truly great piano trios in jazz history (evans with scott lafaro and paul motian). or maybe thelonious monk's historic first real big band recording, the live album at town hall. amazing that these absolute masterworks in the jazz canon were all recorded the same year.
