geeteebee
Last week I started him on allergy shots after he went through the same skin testing that my son did, now this. The doc said he'll need surgery. I can choose one that costs $850 that has a higher failure rate or one that costs $3,000 that still doesn't guarantee he'll be good. I've already spent $1500 on him for the allergy testing and xrays today. They both come with 3+ months of being in a crate full time. And the vet said that dogs that tear one are very likely to tear the other one. Uggh If anybody has been through this, I'd appreaciate any insight on which surgery you opted for and how your pooch was afterwards. Thanks. loaf
my friend's dog has had two of these procedures. The 3k variety. One was a couple years ago and was several months ago (both back legs). Fine now, so far. I wouldn't go the cheap route. I never even knew that option existed but if she (my friend) didn't opt for it, there must've been a good reason as she's not the wealthiest person... Chief Dick
My dog had this. We went the $900 route. Lasted about 5 years until we had to put her down this year due to old age.
Seattle LawDawg
These are the type of things that drove me to get pet insurance. (well, that and the fact that after they pay the annual checkup, you've made back 70% of your annual payments).
