alexgaddis
So I just ordered myself a laptop...we have DSL at home for the Desktop...what do I need to get for the laptop to get on the innernets??
Riffraff
Assuming you have an external DSL modem... if it's internal, conflicts will probably arise if it doesn't have a passthrough port. Get yourself a wireless + 4 port router. Make sure it supports DSL. Connect DSL cable between wall jack and the modem. Connect LAN cable between the modem and the router WAN port. Connect LAN cable between the desktop and any of the 4 LAN ports of the router. Configure the router with the desktop. Set-up the wireless settings. Connect the laptop via wireless network you set-up. Should auto-detect your network.

Double Agent
Check to see if you DSL modem is wireless. If not, see if your provider will send you one free.
westvirginia
Whats this run??? Depending on quality, $30 and up. You could probably get a refurb for cheaper if you wanted, but you'd have to order from www.tigerdirect.com or some place similar.
alexgaddis
I checked with Embarq and they offer the Zxel P20 for $69...
Double Agent
I checked with Embarq and they offer the Zxel P20 for $69... That the way I would go. If you don't have their product, they will not offer support. And setting those up can be tricky.
