wiegie
How much is a gallon of water? It's going to be priceless. wrong As demand for fresh water increases and supply of water decreases, the price will indeed go up. But, this increase in price will cause people to invent new ways to purify dirty water and desalinate salty water. Therefore water will never become priceless. (Interestingly enough, I gave a talk yesterday to a business group about manufacturing in Michigan and one of the people in the audience when people in souther states were going to recognize that they had limited supplies of water and that it would be better for them to move back up here to Michigan. I said that they would move when the price-mechanism forced them to move.)

They always cry for daddy fedgov to "do something" when the price of oil goes up... Don't you foresee rationing and other gov't interference before your scenario happens?
