Trade Calvin Johnson for Crabtree

I'm wondering if I should trade Calvin Johnson for Crabtree. Is this a dumb trade?

i dont really need to look at the rest of your lineup to know this is a no no. You do not trade a top 3 wide receiver when healthy (and hes getting there this week) for a rookie wideout. They typically tend to struggle, only a few exceptions. I think teams will start to show him more respect, plus Alex Smith is their qb. good luck SF lol

Crabtree is doing good and will get better but C. Johnson is the better WR. I have both of them on my roster hopefully he gets back this week.

It's not all that dumb. Calvin has not done much for us this year, and he's hurt.

His leg doesn't look all that good. His team doesn't look all that good.

 

I have Calvin on my team. Would I trade him right now for Crabtree?

I'd sure have to consider it.

Just a gut feeling, but the 49ers complete some passes for TD's. The Lions don't.

but this isn't as crazy as some may think.

 

I'd probably stay with Megatron, but I sure like the looks of Crabtree also.

I have Calvin & Crabtree both on 1 of my dynasty teams.

 

I honestly don't know if I'll be getting any use out of Calvin this year. If I do, then cool, if not, no worries, I have VJax, Jennings, Smith (NYG), Crabtree, Collie, etc.

 

But I know I'll be using Crabtree. This weekend he's gonna be in my lineup. If I'm in the playoffs, then I'll use him in week 16 when the 49ers play the Lions.

No it's not THAT dumb, but it's not a question of who to start or pick up off the waiver-wire as an injury replacement. If that were the case, ya, I'd say it's a decent idea for the short-term... But to trade one of your studs away for a guy who only recently got picked up the waiver-wire, and is bound to struggle at least some games.

 

Remember how everyone went all crazy about Sanchez after a game or two, and Braylon Edwards when he got there too, but how do you feel about either now? Would you trade anyone of value on your team for either...of course not. Calvin is a proven stud, and I'd certainly take my chances with him over an unproven rookie (and by no means trade him away for the ultra-rookie)..
