loaf
there's four hawks that live in the trees next to me. do they fly south for the Winter? It's been above avg temp wise here. Although, there is a tad bit of development going in to their South. These trees are about 400 yards from the street and another 100 yards from Lake Erie. I sure hope the developing hasn't run them off. They were fun to watch. Edited November 29, 2009 by loaf
whomper
We had a hawk in the tree in front of my house that was dominating the block. There were 1/2 squirrels all over the block.
Clubfoothead
Cardinals have returned to the holly bushes out front, right on schedule. Not sure how far those things travel. I thought hawks pretty much stayed in the same place. Don't know that for sure. Edit - apparently some haws do migrate . Looks like you are in an interesting area for hawks: http://www.epa.gov/med/grosseile_site/indi...-migration.html . Looks like you are right on the edge of seasonal and year round chicken hawk, so I suppose it would be all about food inyour area. http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-tai...awk/lifehistory Birds of prey are cool.
