millerx
Hating the gov't going mainstream... Will the libs only get two years, or is he overstating it? My guess, they will only get two years but no huge steps forward for the Libertarians either... unfortunately. I agree with the article in large part, but there are just too many Americans that don't follow politics closely enough to follow a third party (let alone the two we have now) and too much control by the media to give it deserved and fair coverage. Pope Flick
Overstating. I say that based on how Perot disappeared basically after 1992. The question that left us with was this: if the guy wasn't batchit crazy would his political career have had legs? At this point, Paul is perceived as just as batchit crazy as Perot so it won't be him. And until a charismatic person emerges from the middle (which is what a third party would prolly govern from) I personally don't believe it's happening. That, and people don't like the health care bill RIGHT NOW, but I suspect attitudes and opinions will begin to break closer in favor of it down the road. Whether or not that impacts the congressionals in November meaningfully remains to be seen. Edited April 16, 2010 by Pope Flick
