MojoMan
So, we have a 58 year old house with an unfinished basement in the DC burbs. Last spring, we got a helluva lot of rain and got seepage around the joint between the slab and the sides of the basement. Desert Dry put in a drainage system linked to a sump pump. We have a battery back up that is supposed to work for 8 hours (presumably continuously). If the SHTF, I'm thinking about buying this human-operated pump, hoping I can get a siphon action going (I think the street may be below the level of the sump). Will this thing pump water out of a sump (through garden hose) and about 100 feet to the street? http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/items/4PH...uipment-_-4PHL7 TIA
Chief Dick
Save your money. If it rains that much, AND the power goes out, AND the battery backup runs out of juice, it was just meant to be.

Thanks CD. This makes the most sense; can't control everything.
