katk9
This is my 1st post on the forum, and in need of some advice for a keeper ppr 12-team trophy league I'm in. This will be our 3rd year running, I won the championship the 1st year. I am allowed to keep 10 players from my team, and 1 of my top 2 players must leave the team, in this case Matt Schaub or Larry Fitzgerald. I will be drafting 8th this year, I'm thinking if I drop Schaub, I may be able to pick him back up in the draft, but if I drop Fitzgerald I may never have that chance. What do you think? My roster consist of: Matt Schaub qb* Eli Manning qb Reggie Bush rb Lesean McCoy rb Steven Jackson rb Kevin Smith rb Donald Brown rb Miles Austin wr Larry Fitzgerald wr* Robert Meachem wr Pieree Garcon wr Mike Wallace wr Jason Witten te Jermichael Finley te Baltimore def San Diego def Matt Stover k Our settings are as follows: Roster Size: 17 Total Starters: 9 Total On Bench: 8 Position Starters Maximum Quarterback (QB) 1 3 Running Back (RB) 2 5 Running Back/Wide Receiver (RB/WR) 1 N/A Wide Receiver (WR) 2 5 Tight End (TE) 1 2 Team Defense/Special Teams (D/ST) 1 2 Place Kicker (K) 1 2 Bench (BE) 8 N/A Scoring Passing Every 25 passing yards (PY25) 1 TD Pass (PTD) 6 Interceptions Thrown (INT) -2 Rushing Every 10 rushing yards (RY10) 1 TD Rush (RTD) 6 2pt Rushing Conversion (2PR) 2 Receiving Every 10 receiving yards (REY10) 1 Each reception (REC) 1 TD Reception (RETD) 6 2pt Receiving Conversion (2PRE) 2 Miscellaneous Kickoff Return TD (KRTD) 6 Punt Return TD (PRTD) 6 Fumble Recovered for TD (FTD) 6 Total Fumbles Lost (FUML) -2 Kicking Each PAT Made (PAT) 1 Total FG Missed (FGM) -1 FG Made (0-39 yards) (FG0) 3 FG Made (40-49 yards) (FG40) 4 FG Made (50+ yards) (FG50) 5 Team Defense / Special Teams Each Sack (SK) 1 Interception Return TD (INTTD) 6 Fumble Return TD (FRTD) 6 Kickoff Return TD (KRTD) 6 Punt Return TD (PRTD) 6 Blocked Punt or FG return for TD (BLKKRTD) 6 Blocked Punt, PAT or FG (BLKK) 2 Each Interception (INT) 2 Each Fumble Recovered (FR) 2 Each Safety (SF) 2 0 points allowed (PA0) 10 1-6 points allowed (PA1) 7 7-13 points allowed (PA7) 4 14-17 points allowed (PA14) 1 22-27 points allowed (PA22) -1 28-34 points allowed (PA28) -4 35-45 points allowed (PA35) -7 46+ points allowed (PA46) -
Big Country
Drop Schaub. Easy decision. Just curious, how was it determined that Schaub was one of your top 2 players? Are you also looking for input on what 10 players to keep?

Are you also looking for input on what 10 players to keep? From the fantasy points they received last season. Schaub 325 pts. Fitzgerald 277 pts. Schaub puts up good numbers throwing to Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels. I just don't know what to think about Matt Leinart in control of the throwing game in Arizona. Yes, your input on the 10 would help me out. Thanks

Eli has the potential to be there, and even if he isn't, the point dropoff from what Schaub is likely to do to what Eli is likely to do is minimal compared to the likely point drop off from Fitzgerald to whatever WRs may make it into the draft, and my suggestion is actually going ot be to not keep a QB. My 10 keepers would be: Sjax McCoy Bush Brown Fitzgerald Austin Meachem Wallace Witten Finley Maybe put Garcon in place of one of the TEs if you think he will still put up numbers in Indy with a healthy Gonzalez back and being behind Wayne, Clark, etc. in the pecking order of Manning's checks. Otherwise, as much as I hate to keep a 2nd TE, better value keeping a strong TE on your bench and out of your opponents lineups.
KeeperCommish
Just curious, how was it determined that Schaub was one of your top 2 players? Im curious too. How is that determined? I have a league just like this (other than that) in scoring and roster size. Your team is stacked. I can't believe you didn't win last year too! Too bad you cant start two TEs. Finley and Witten?! To your question, I would drop Fitzgerald, if it's between him and Schaub. There is too much uncertainty around Fitz, at QB especially, versus Schaub who has more proven point scoring ability as you rightly pointed out. Wallace isn't a horrible #2 hopefully and make targeting a top-WR in the re-draft a priority. Here are my 10 keepers on your team (assuming you can keep them yoy without penalty): Steven Jackson Matt Schaub Lesean McCoy Miles Austin Jason Witten Jermichael Finley Mike Wallace Pieree Garcon Donald Brown Eli Manning/Balt D Can you trade Fitz? Or Eli/Bush for a WR?
katk9
I value both logic of reasoning's, due to our scoring settings Schaub was #1, Fitzgerald was #2 in regards to fantasy points. Since I have the #8 pick, I am thinking if I drop Schaub, I maybe able to pick him right back up in the draft. It's a chance I may have to take. Just don't know, one thing I do know, my choice has to be made by this coming Saturday.
The Wolf
Hate to disagree with my fellow frater, but I would drop Fitz. Normally, I bargain hunt for my QB's, but sans Warner - and Boldin - I am not as high on Fitz as I'd normally be. YITB The Wolf
