  1. 1. Where does the top rookie go?

    • I'd be willing in the first with the 1.11 or 1.12 maybe
      15
    • Definite second rounder with upside
      47
    • Be willing to risk a third rounder on him if he fell that far
      42
    • No matter what, someone else is going to want him more than I will

I can only repeat: He's not a guy I will bet my season on. Pretty much any rookie is too risky for me to bet my fantasy season on, and by "bet my season", I mean take in the first 3-4 rounds. There are veterans that are less risky choices.

I want to get out of those rounds with players that are likely to play near the top pf their respective positions. I don't make that bet on a rookie. EDIT: Unless I think the rookie is very special, for instance Adrian Peterson....and then I am still cautious about it.

I don't know if Mathews is "special" but he's a very good talent in an explosive offense...so he'll get his chances in an offense that has favored throwing to RB's out of the backfield...as long as Turner is there anyways ...

I think Mathews is a great RB2 when you step away from things and look at all the situations between your rankings between the #7 and #15 range....he could even be a dependable #1 if you decide to go elsewhere in the 1st round...
