Skippy
So I have this spiffy new computer that I just put together last week. I am loving the new machine but I added or changed something in the last day or two that sets off a very lite sounding chime. Sort of like a mail warning or something like that. For the life of me I can not figure it out. The only thing that I have open is about ten browsers. Now what I just figured out is that it happend right at 12:00am. So I am now thinking that it may have something to do with the clock. Does Win7 have some sort of chime that goes off with the hour? Anyone have any other idea? A pair of used huddle tube socks, that I won years ago, to the person that first figures this out. I did a quick google search and this goof is having the same exact issue. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forum...t/19331825.aspx I found another goof with the same problem. http://forums.techguy.org/windows-7/909415...ws-7-chime.html Edited August 17, 2010 by Skippy

cre8tiff
First hint. I found the exact noise and this is where it is: C:\WINDOWS\media\notify.wav rename the file and see if it gets an error. If not, it just won't chime again!
