What am I missing here. Sounds to me we can lower the corporate tax rate and increase the tax revenue. At the same time, encourage the growth of business in the US.

While this article wanted to use the money for stimulus, I am sure there would be better ways to spend it, like reducing the deficit. (This point aside)

What is the down side that I am not seeing here?

Government would have less control and the liberals would cry.

Dont you know that trickle down will never work.

The country must tax the evil rich.

Than the working folk will leave the country and let the peasants roll around in their own doo.

Hope and change = WE MUST BECOME A Third World Country.

For the same reason that the fair tax (or any retail sales tax that gets rid of the IRS) would never really get enacted - it's about power. Everything these politicians want to do does one of two things: 1) increases their chances of re-election, or 2) increases their power (which also helps number 1). When was the last time the government really did something that increased freedom?
