Perchoutofwater
On this date in 1812 (2/11/1812) Massachusetts Governor Elbridge Gerry signed a redistricting bill in his party's favor, giving rise to the term "gerrymandering". Interesting side note, Gerry was also the 5th Vice President of the United States (March 4, 1813 – November 23, 1814), and died in office. He was also a signer of The Declaration of Independence.
