BeeR
Careful what "table scraps" you give your dog. Many foods that are fine, even healthy, for people can be deadly to dogs. Most know chocolate (esp dark/baker's chocolate) but also grapes, tomatos, onions, ham (even just a ham bone) etc. Can vary per breed etc but FYI. Suggest googling if you give your dog any kind of "people food." Edited March 1, 2011 by BeeR
muck
similarly, frozen veggies are great treats.
MikesVikes
What about tomato paste? Dogs usually like pizza as much as cats love catnip. We never give our dogs onions. Are grapes on the list due to choking hazard? Edited March 1, 2011 by MikesVikes
Hugh 0ne
Complete list here: http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=...59&aid=1030 Grapes, raisins and currants contain an unknown toxin, which can damage the kidneys. There have been no problems associated with grape seed extract.
muck
IIRC, the problem w/ grapes is in their skin ... so, peel a grape for your pooch ... just don't give him a whole one (or pulvarized / blended ones).
BeeR
Yeah, cuz that's worth the effort. We actually bought a ham bone that the grocery store (advertised for dogs) was selling and gave it to our terrier. We naively figured hey they wouldn't sell it if it wasn't safe for dogs, right? Damn near killed the guy.
