Scooby's Hubby
I see many of you may want to evacuate due to Irene. Being in East Texas, we are where all the evacuess go from the gulf coast and from Louisianna. My advice would be to beat the crowd and treat it as a vacation. Find family, or get a hotel now, one with internet access that you can hole up in for 2 days. And for God's sake, if you have a draft take your cheat sheets. untateve
I completely agree. I learned that lesson the hard way. I evacuated when Frances came through here in 2004. I waited too long to do so, however. A ride that normally takes 2 1/2 hours took me a bit over 6 hours. Good times.

Scooby's Hubby
"Evacuating a Hurricane" - What one does after drinking five fruity rum drinks? that brings back memories of waking up in a Little Rock hospital, appearantly via Memphis (Beale St.), with an IV in my arm. All I remember was promising to never drink again.
