Swampnuts
I'm gonna be at Caesar's for the weekend and need a good book in that area to watch the games in. The host at Caesar's pretty much told us we were hosed if we expected to get a table in the book for Sunday as all were reserved for bigger volume players. Any recommendations of other hotels in that area of the strip that have good books for betting / watching games and getting loaded? I need a place with access to food and a table for about 6 guys. Also could use a good restaurant recommendation for less than 50 a head if anyone's got one!
Scooby's Hubby
The best "low brow" book to watch all the games is at the Vegas Hilton. It is off the beaten path a little, but has exceptional facilites that can hold big crowds, not to mention the food aint bad and the kegs are always flowing with short lines
Big Country
MGM Grand - not bad though a little small. Flamingo - Not bad, but not really a lot of tables in the book, though there is a bar right there. Off strip a bit is the Rio which, if memory serves, had a decent book. Also close access to the Rio Buffett which is constantly voted one of the top one's in Vegas. One option is Miracle Mile - there is a PBR themed restaurant with a ton of TVs and I believe it is the Planet Hollywood sportsbook right across the walkway from it. This is where a bunch of ud Huddlers went for opening day. Placed bets, got seated, drank beer by the bucket, ate good food. I doubt every Sunday is as busy as opening day, but would suggest you have someone get there at about 20 minutes ahead of gametime to get the table, etc.. Be sure to let them know what game you want to see so they can seat you accordingly to give a good view of the screens with your preferred game on. SheikYerbuti
I don't know how busy it is on Sunday (I always watch the games at home), but the Mirage sports book is very big, and has pretty good seating. There's a handful of tables towards the poker room that have good sightlines to the tv screens. If you want to go off the strip, Red Rock has a very nice book too. Mandalay Bay's book is nice too. Smaller than Mirage, but it's got a lounge with lots of tables, also with good sightlines. If you want to go WAY off the strip, Aliante Station has $1 beers and dogs all day Sundays, and Monday night. It's clean, big, and rowdy with locals. It's actually one of my favorite casinos. Far from the strip, but close to where I live.
