bushwacked
Maybe I'm down on baseball in general because my Mariners have sucked for about a decade now, but I watched the home run derby for about 15 minutes before getting bored. A comparison to the NBA's dunk contest seems appropriate. For a casual fan of the game, it would be nice if RA Dickey was starting tonight. I doubt that I will watch much, if any of the game tonight. Scooby's Hubby
This used to be a must watch for me at one time. I didn;t see one inning last night. I just hope Ron Washington was smart enough to wear out his competition's pitching staff and rest his.
muck
For the record, I thought it was great that KC booed Cano. If the AS game was in NYC and Billy Butler was the captain of the HRD squad, and he said before the game he'd pick a Yankee to be on the team, and then, upon refletion he didn't ... is there anyway he doesn't get booed everytime he does anything in NY for the rest of his career (much less for just this one AS game)? Nope. Butler would have heard it coming and going. The fact that we've not had a relevant baseball team here in 25yrs ... and we still care enough to boo someone who is believed to have done the Royals wrong ... well, frankly, that's great. I thought it was great that we showed we are passionate and we have a spine and, while we're not taking up half of Sports Center every night, we do have some self-respect. PS -- I think Cano made the right call with his picks. We can still boo him, though. Edited July 11, 2012 by muck
