rajncajn
Sorry if this was posted before NFL head injury denial failed my husband My husband, Ray, was the Atlanta Falcons' starting safety in the 1970s. He led their feared "Grits Blitz," one of the stingiest defenses the NFL has ever seen. Four months ago, Ray killed himself after decades suffering from dementia. The autopsy confirmed that his illness stemmed from chronic traumatic encephalopathy, a disease caused by repeated hits Ray had sustained. Ray is not the only former player to suffer a debilitating neurological illness, nor I the only family member to have my life changed forever by injuries the NFL had the power and the responsibility to prevent. The NFL and its representatives claim that the league takes care of former players. Let me tell you how the NFL took care of us.
