Mark5
I guess if he wins the BIG ONE this year his family would make him retire... Looks like he could be back next year at this rate........

Bill Swerski
Brett even completed a pass to Tice on the sideline. In his last five playoff games, Favre has thrown THIRTEEN picks. Ouch. Brett's lucky to have played with some great defenses back in the mid-90s and to have won a SB with one of those teams. Otherwise, the pundits would've lumped him into the "can't win the big one" category along with Marino, Kelly, Fouts, Tarkenton, etc.
LegFuJohnson
Don't forget Desmond Howard.

Two can be attributed to WRs running incomplete or bad routes and one was tipped (though you could agrue whether he should have thrown that one). The thing that bugs me most about this loss is that we Packer fans have been dogging the defense all season and they finally pretty well for about 3/4 off the second half and suddenly the offense couldn't get a first down. It has progressively worsened each of the last 3-4 years. Instead of hitting the RB in the flat, or taking the short route, Favre continously tries to go downfield into double and triple coverage, while attempting to fit the ball in. In watching their games, the TE's are virtually non-existent and the number of passes compelted to RBs has fallen drastically. IMO, this is not by design, but a product of Favre's horrible decision making. When Holmgren was there, he was a strong presence who could minimize Favre's stupidity. Sherman cannot and continues to scratch his head, while Favre throws a pass strait up during last year's playoffs and throws an illegal pass 6" from the first down marker! If any other QB made these horrendous mistakes, they would be crucified in the media and benched! Edited January 10, 2005 by gspot
